FIFA World Cup Ready: Food Trucks, Carts & Activations by The Food Truck Group
Large events are remembered for their music, crowds, and production. However, the surrounding details also influence how people remember the experience long after it ends. The food, environment, and atmosphere of the event all contribute to the impression guests take home.
This is where The Food Truck Group has found its place.
Founded in 2015, with experience in the industry since 2009, we’ve grown into a trusted partner for events that need mobile kitchens, food carts, and brand activations. Based in Los Angeles, we provide food truck rentals, sales, and catering coordination for companies, artists, and more.
As the FIFA World Cup approaches, cities across the U.S. are preparing for an influx of international visitors, street food is expected to play an important role in how fans enjoy these gatherings.
Events on this scale rely on flexible food service, visually appealing setups, and vendors that can keep crowds full. Over the years, The Food Truck Group has done just that in many events we’ve been part of.
Food Trucks and Brand Activations
Today, food trucks serve a larger role than simply preparing meals on wheels. Brands, artists, and marketing teams frequently use them to interact with audiences in a way that feels welcoming.
One reason is visibility. A food truck naturally attracts attention through its design, the gathering of people, and the smell of food that people immediately notice.
Food trucks also create a natural gathering point. When people line up to order food, they talk and take pictures for social media. This makes food trucks especially effective for brand activations where interaction matters, while naturally encouraging guests to share the experience and spread the word.
Every interaction begins with a concept. Once the idea is formed, our team handles the operational side of the project. That includes truck rentals, vendor coordination, logistics, staffing, and ensuring compliance with local health department regulations.
One activation that demonstrates this process was Omar Apollo’s Disha Hot Sauce launch.
Omar Apollo’s Disha Hot Sauce Food Truck Activation
The launch of Disha Hot Sauce by Mexican-American artist Omar Apollo is a good example of how a food truck can enhance a brand experience.
Omar wanted the launch to feel genuine for his fans. Instead of a traditional launch, he chose a taco truck serving food made with his hot sauce recipe. Fans could eat, socialize, and meet Omar for photos to post on their social media.
The Food Truck Group helped bring Omar’s vision to life. Our team provided the taco truck, assisted with exterior graphics, sourced ingredients, and staffed the event with cooks and service staff. Our team also handled transportation, setup, service, and breakdown.
The tacos served featured Omar’s recipe, allowing fans to experience the hot sauce exactly as intended. The event was relaxed and lively, exactly how Omar wanted it to feel.
While this activation was intentionally smaller to focus on the fans who support Omar Apollo, The Food Truck Group has also supported events on a larger scale.
Feeding 10,000 Fans at Tate McRae’s Album Release
Another event that highlighted the role of food trucks took place during Tate McRae’s album release celebration at the Kia Forum.
With over 10,000 fans in attendance, the event required careful planning. Simply parking a few food trucks in a lot isn’t enough for such a large crowd.
The Food Truck Group worked closely with organizers to coordinate the vendor lineup and map out the layout, including spacing, line flow, and overall crowd movement.
Concerts involve long hours and high energy, and good food helps keep guests feel comfortable and engaged throughout the experience.
Our vendors worked tirelessly throughout the evening to serve fans efficiently. With our support, fans could enjoy the music and socialize in the parking lot, enjoying the full celebration for Tate McRae’s album release.
Supporting Community Events: The Pacoima 2025 Holiday Parade
The Pacoima Holiday Parade is a long-standing neighborhood tradition that brings together families, youth programs, and local organizations each year. Marching groups, decorated floats, and music fills the streets as the community gathers to celebrate the holiday season.
In 2024, The Food Truck Group participated in the parade alongside their clients who were awarded grants through ICON CDC for their food carts. In 2025, we returned in a different role by volunteering to help behind the scenes.
Our team arrived before the parade began. By then, the Los Angeles Police Department officers were coming in, volunteers and organizers were keeping everything on track, and participants were checking in at their designated spots.
To support everyone involved, we set up a catering station serving hot coffee and tamales.
Tamales felt like the perfect choice for the event. For many families in Pacoima, they are a holiday tradition and a familiar part of seasonal gatherings. Coffee, meanwhile, helps everyone stay awake and warm for the morning.
Small gestures like this can make a huge difference.
Why Food Trucks Are Perfect for Major Events
Looking across events like the Disha Hot Sauce activation, the Pacoima Holiday Parade, and Tate McRae’s album release shows how adaptable food trucks can be.
Food trucks are often overlooked in favor of traditional catering. However, their flexibility makes them a strong option for many events.
There are three major advantages food trucks offer:
- They bring food directly to the audience, making it easy to integrate in any setting.
- They’re built to operate efficiently in compact spaces, allowing vendors to serve large crowds fast.
- They offer a great variety of flavor. When several food trucks gather, they create a food festival where guests can explore different cuisines.
Above all, food trucks add visual character to events, bringing life to outdoor spaces with their colorful wraps, menu boards, and the delicious scent of food being prepared.
Choosing food trucks also supports small businesses. Many food vendors are independent entrepreneurs who rely on events to grow their customer base. Giving them the opportunity to participate in events helps strengthen the local food community.
The FIFA World Cup
The FIFA World Cup will gather people from around the world. Along with the matches themselves, visitors will attend watch parties, explore neighborhoods, and search for areas to eat.
Food trucks and street food carts offer an effective way to feed large groups while keeping the environment lively.
The Food Truck Group offers a range of options that work well for events connected to major sporting tournaments.
Our team includes food trucks capable of serving full meals, desserts and beverages, and food carts designed for quick street-style snacks. We also partner with Revolution Carts to help entrepreneurs launch street food carts that can operate throughout event areas.
Beyond food service, we connect you with the right people to wrap the food trucks with custom graphics that transform them into mobile advertising platforms. For sponsors or brands looking to interact with fans, this creates visibility and engagement at the same time.
Our team also manages vendor coordination, logistics, staffing, and health department compliance so organizers can focus on the overall event experience.
A Hub for Food Truck Entrepreneurs
While events and activations are an exciting part of what we do, The Food Truck Group also focuses on supporting entrepreneurs entering the mobile food industry.
We assist clients with food truck rentals, truck sales, health permit approvals, floor plan drafting, and repairs required to bring units up to code. Many aspiring vendors have reached out for our guidance, bringing with them a concept and idea for their business.
Over time, The Food Truck Group has become a resource for entrepreneurs looking to start or expand their mobile food business.
As the FIFA World Cup approaches, we’re looking forward to helping both new and experienced food truck owners prepare for the opportunity and find the right locations to set up and succeed.
A Final Note
FIFA presents a major opportunity for food businesses, and food trucks and carts are one of the most effective ways to serve large crowds.
Whether you’re starting a food truck, launching a cart, or planning for upcoming events, our team can help guide you through the process—from equipment to permits and setup.
If you’re looking to get started, now is the best time to prepare.
